A little about us
Our story
We're Amber and Rachel, best friends, business partners, and the co-founders of Build Better Fitness.
Our story started in 2020 when we met through mutual friends. What began as casual conversations quickly turned into a strong friendship built on shared values, big goals, and a mutual love for health and fitness. Whenever we could, we'd meet up to work out together.
Even though life took us to different states, Amber to California and Rachel to Colorado, distance never stopped us. We made it a priority to fly out to see each other as often as possible, continuing to support one another both personally and professionally. During this time, we were both working in fitness coaching, gaining experience, refining our coaching styles, and building the foundation for something bigger.
Eventually, we realized we didn't just want to coach. We wanted to create something of our own. Something rooted in education, empowerment, sustainability, and real results. That's when Build Better Fitness was born. We officially launched Build Better Fitness on January 1, 2024, and haven't looked back since.
Since then, we've grown together as business owners, coaches, and best friends. We continue to fly across the country to collaborate, plan, create content, and strengthen our vision, all while serving an incredible community of clients. Watching women transform not just physically, but mentally and emotionally, has been the most rewarding part of this journey.
Build Better Fitness isn't just a business to us. It's the result of friendship, trust, shared passion, and a deep commitment to helping others build healthier, stronger lives.
And we're just getting started.
But here's what nobody tells you: being active isn't the same as understanding your body. I was training hard, eating what I thought was healthy, staying consistent, and still didn't look or feel the way I wanted. I'd stand in front of the mirror, frustrated, wondering what I was missing. I felt stuck, even though I was doing everything I thought I was supposed to do.
What I was missing wasn't more effort. It was education. Once I actually learned how my body worked, how to fuel it, how to train it, how to stop guessing, everything changed. Not just my results, but my entire relationship with food and fitness.
Sound familiar? Maybe you've tried plan after plan and still feel stuck. Maybe you're putting in real effort and not seeing it pay off, and you're starting to wonder if something's wrong with you. It's not. You just haven't had the right information yet.
You don't need more willpower. You need a clear plan, real education, and an approach that actually fits your life, not one you have to white-knuckle your way through. Together, we'll cut through the confusion, ditch the guesswork, and build a plan that finally makes sense for your body.
My mission is simple: help you find a happy, healthy balance that lasts, for life.
Fitness has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I played soccer from age four all the way through college, and after that, I stayed active through running and strength training. On paper, I had it figured out. I was always in the gym, always moving, always doing the work.

Growing up, I was put into just about every sport imaginable. Eventually, I found my passion in volleyball and track, which I focused on throughout high school. Before long, I was following directly in my mom's footsteps, waking up at 4:30 in the morning to train for my own half marathons. Fitness stopped being something I did and became part of who I was.
After high school, I attended Colorado State University where I pursued elementary education and became a teacher. Teaching gave me a deep love for helping others learn, grow, and build confidence. Even then, I knew in the back of my mind that coaching was always part of my future. The transition into the fitness industry wasn't a surprise. It was something I had always felt called to do.
Today, Build Better Fitness allows me to combine my two greatest passions: health and education. I don't just give clients workouts. I teach women how to understand their bodies, their nutritional needs, build sustainable habits, gain confidence, and create a lifestyle they actually enjoy and can maintain long term.
My mission is simple: to help you build strength, balance, and confidence, not just for today, but for life. I hope to be the last coach you'll need.
Some of my earliest memories of fitness don't come from a gym. They come from my basement. I remember being a little girl watching my mom work out, following weight training programs she'd tear out of magazines. I remember she'd be up and out of the house by 4:30 AM to train for half marathons. That work ethic, discipline, and commitment to health left a lasting impression on me.
